Previously I went over how Ng can be used link adjectives and the word they are describing. In addition you will only use Ng after a wording ending in a vowel or n. However there are other situations when you can also use Ng.

In a previous blog I also mentioned that Ng can be translated into of. For example sangay ng puno or tatay ng istudyante. If we were to translate each example sangay is branch and puno is tree. So when translated you get branch of the tree. While tatay is father and istudyante is student. When translated you get father of the student.

However there will so be times when Ng cannot be translated. Currently I am not sure when to use Ng instead of another word. So I will have to continue learning.

Summary of today’s phrases

Sangay ng puno – Branch of the tree

Tatay ng istudyante – Father of the student

Hopefully you find this post helpful. And tomorrow join me again to learn some more useful Tagalog phrases and words.
