Common Household Items
You just finished learning the Tagalog words for the rooms located within a home. So today we will be learning the name of common household items. These words will come in handy when you are shopping or just helping out around the house. Allowing you to do these simple tasks without having to rely on someone to translate everything for you.
A few common items you will need to buy for your home are mats, candle holders and wall shelf's. Which are called Baníg, Kandelabra and Istante Sa Pader respectively.
Two common household items you will find in a Filipino kitchen is a fryer and papers towels. So if you want to know what to call them in Tagalog it is Prituhan for fryer and Tuwalyang Papel for paper towel.
One common task that everyone has to do is clean. Let’s say you want a laundry basket to put dirty clothes into. Well a laundry basket is called Lalagyan Ng Labahin. And of course if you want to wash your clothes you are going to need laundry detergent which is Sabong Panglaba in Tagalog.
Next you might want dust your home. In order to do this you are going to need a dustpan which is called Daspan and a Duster which is Pamaspas in Tagalog. And of course once you are finished you will want to be putting your rubbish in a Basurahan or trash bin in English.
The last two common household items you will see around the home are rubber gloves and rags due to their versatility and affordability. These are called Guwantes Na Goma and Bashan.
